Florida Man Arrested in Multi-Agency Moore County Vehicle Break-In and Fraud Case

A months-long investigation into vehicle break-ins and financial crimes across Moore County has led to the arrest of a Florida man.

Larry Ware III, 27, of Hollywood, Florida, was arrested after investigators linked him to a series of crimes that began in Aberdeen in February 2025. The investigation started when two vehicles were broken into at Legacy Lakes, with purses and credit cards stolen and later used at local businesses.

Law enforcement agencies across multiple North Carolina communities worked together after similar crimes were reported in Southern Pines, Pinehurst, Pembroke, Cary, High Point, and Cornelius. Authorities determined the suspects were part of a “felony lane gang,” a term used for organized groups that travel across states committing coordinated theft and fraud.

Ware faces multiple felony charges including breaking into vehicles, financial card theft, fraud, and obtaining property by false pretenses. He was arrested in December and jailed on a $25,000 secured bond.
