Pinehurst Launches Yearlong America 250 Celebration

The Village of Pinehurst is preparing for a yearlong celebration to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States.

The America 250 program will include historic events, community installations, and interactive projects designed to reflect on the nation’s past, present, and future.

Signature events include a ceremonial Liberty Tree planting on January 30, a screening of a Constitution documentary on March 4, and a public reading of the Declaration of Independence on July 8.

The village will also display 250 American flags and banners downtown and is launching a community cookbook featuring family recipes and stories from residents, with submissions open through February 13.
