One Dead, Two Hurt in Harnett County Shootings

Harnett County authorities are investigating two drive-by shootings that happened Sunday afternoon in the Cameron area, just minutes apart. Deputies first responded to Scooter Lane, where an 18-year-old man was injured. Shortly after, Sanford Police notified local authorities of two more shooting victims—one, a 16-year-old, who died at the scene and another, a 20-year-old, hospitalized at UNC Chapel Hill. Investigators believe the two incidents are related, but have not confirmed whether the same shooter was involved. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office.
