The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles has launched a comprehensive strategic plan for 2026-2030 to enhance services for all residents. The plan focuses on reducing long wait times by expanding digital services such as online driver license and commercial license renewals, offering online knowledge exams, and introducing mobile IDs and an integrated app. Alongside improving physical offices and staffing, the NCDMV will simplify outdated policies, streamline processes with AI, and enhance customer service through staff training and innovation labs. This initiative aims to provide safer, easier, and more convenient transportation services statewide.
