The Moore County Schools Board of Education recognized exceptional students and staff from across the district at Monday’s meeting. Those honored included classroom teachers, support staff, and student leaders who exemplify the district motto: Engage. Inspire. Succeed. Honorees came from Robbins Elementary, North Moore High School, Westmoore Elementary, and Union Pines High School’s NJROTC program. Among the recognitions: school counselor Betsy Pilson and receptionist Sarah Maness at North Moore, student body president Ja’Quan Fletcher, veteran educators Kim McQueen and Tina Hare at Robbins, and leaders Kristin Baptista and Mandy McNeill at Westmoore. Union Pines NJROTC received national distinction as a Distinguished Unit with Academic Honors, granting its commander the privilege of nominating students to military academies.
