Free Community Event:       Expectations & Plans: Book Club, Discussion Group, Support Group…

100 Waters Drive, Southern Pines, NC

The community is invited to “Expectations & Plans: Book Club, Discussion Group, Support Group…” a new discussion group designed to explore the expectations and the realities of life as we age. The group will meet on Tuesdays for six weeks, October 3 – November 7, at 1:00p.m. to explore Atual Gawande’s Being Mortal – Medicine and What Matters in the End. Ashley Seace is facilitating the discussions and Belle Meade is hosting in their Clubhouse Art Room located at 100 Waters Drive, Southern Pines. Interested attendees are encouraged to call the Belle Meade Clubhouse at 910.246.1003 to reserve their seat.

Seace an Aging Life Care™ Professional with AOS Care Management was invited to facilitate these discussions by Belle Meade residents Nelda Cockman and Nancy Latham. Everyone agreed while Gawande’s book explores his honest examination of a physician’s role as life draws to a close it also creates opportunities for group discussions. One book reviewer believes, “Being Mortal shows the ultimate goal is not a good death but a good life – all the way to the very end.”  Attendees do not have to read the book prior to attending. “Conversations will flow based on attendees’ interests and questions and perhaps our discussions will encourage attendees to read the book,” shared Seace.

For questions on “Expectation & Plans” discussion format contact Ashley Seace at 910-692-0683 or info@AOSNC.com. To reserve your seat and add your name to the Belle Meade entrance gate call the clubhouse at 910.246.1003.
