For the 4th year in a row the event was held at Honey Baked Ham and Cafe' in Aberdeen and all of the donations collected were given to the Moore Coalition for Human Care and the Food Bank for Central and Eastern North Carolina.
The Muirfield Broadcasting stations and Air Specialties of Pinehurst were on duty all day making the collections and were joined by the staff of the Moore County Chamber of Commerce who lent a helping hand taking in the donations. Citizens and many, many local businesses showed their generosity thoughout the day by dropping off over 200 coats, over 200 blankets and hundreds of hats, gloves, scarves and types of clothing, toys and food. Michael Cotton from the Food Bank was also happy to collect the $1,400 in monetart donations that will go directly to help put food on the table of North Carolina residents. The food bank has the ability to produce 5 meals for every dollar donated so Friday's event will go along way in helping the less fortunate during the holiday season.
Many thanks to Kyle Cantelmo, the owner of Air Specilaties of Pinehurst, for being the sponsor of this wonderful event. Keith and everyone at Honey Baked Ham and Cafe were wonderful hosts once again, offering all of our volunteers a free lunch and to the Moore County Chamber of Commerce for their support.
Moore County once again comes through for their neighbors...great job MooCo!
