Green Fields Sandhills presents Andrew Branan, Ag Law attorney, and Tommy Cleveland, with NC Clean Technology Association, will provide information for landowners with an interest in leasing their land for solar farms, and for neighbors and communities to learn more about how solar farms impact farm land. Edgar Miller, with Conservation Trust of NC, will discuss farmland preservation issues and options. The main focus of the evening will be answering questions and generating engaged discussion between our experts, speakers, and attendees.

Annual Spring Barn Dance

Throw on your jeans and slip into your boots and join us on March 30th for Prancing Horse's Spring Barn Dance at the Fair Barn in Pinehurst! Dinner by Filly and Colts, dancing with DJ King Curtis and silent auction benefits therapeutic riding programs for special needs kids and adults. Tickets are $50 and are available at the Cabin Branch Shop, Southern Pines; Lady Bedfords in Pinehurst; A Bit Used, Vass, Sandhills Winery , West End or online at www.prancing-horse.org. There will also be a raffle for a Royal Caribbean cruise anywhere the line sails and only 200 tickets will be sold at $100 each. So mosey on over for a boot scootin good time!

Run to Honor Veterans

"Run to Honor Veterans" is an event to that recognizes all Veterans, raises awareness of Veteran issues and assists the Disabled American Veterans, Moore County Chapter 83 in “Fulfilling our promises to the men and women who served.” The race will start and finish at the Moor County Veteran Memorial. This event is not-for-profit with all proceeds going to Moore County, Chapter 83 of the Disabled American Veterans.

A Symphony of Quilts

The Tarheel Quilter's Guild is hosting their biennial Quilt Show and Fundraiser on April 7th and 8th at the March F. Riddle Center, Methodist University.
Events throughout the day include a judged quilt show, raffles, demos and lectures, children's activities, and vendors. The grand prize to be raffled off on April 8th is a beautiful queen sized quilt (plus two pillow shams), designed and made by members of the Tarheel Quilter's guild. Admission to the show is $8.00

The Guild is a non-profit whose mission is to promote and perpetuate the art of quilting through education and outreach. Proceeds from this event will go toward the continuation of our VA Hospital and NICU donation quilt programs, as well as the development of new outreach events.
